About

“Locker room chemistry first, performance on the ice is a bonus.” Is the mantra of the Mighty Drunks, a beer league hockey team that started at Sherwood Ice Arena under the leadership of Matt Brodsky. The Sherwood team started at the “C” level then progressed together to the “B” level, and settled into their current home at the “BB” level.

In the eternal quest for more ice time, the Drunks have spurned a sister team at Winterhawks Skating Center, led by Mark Corcoran, one of the original founding members of the Sherwood Team. The team at Winterhawks has played in a number of divisions, including D3, D2, D2B, and D1. They are still the only team ever to have a player suspended for throwing a “double bird” in an opening round playoff game.

Finally, in 2017 the Drunks spun off a “travel team” for tournaments named The Little Cuties led by Kevin Palmer, Hunter Levengood, and McKinley Pfahl. They haven’t been banned from any states, yet.
